Meet Pastor Dumaresq and His Family
Pastor Dumaresq was born in 1970 in Consort Alberta, and moved to Kelowna in 1974. His passion in high school was woodworking and art. His testimony is that he was a “foul-mouthed, beer-swilling atheist who loved to debate Christians."
After awaking from a frightening dream one August night in 1989, a voice spoke to him and said, “Ask me if I’m real.” So, he challenged God “If you are real, show me!” Within two weeks of this prayer, miraculous circumstances unfolded.
Pastor Dumaresq encountered a Christian man who was able to answer all his atheistic arguments and he was convinced—God was indeed real! Then he repented and prayed that God would lead him to the right church. A few days later he met Tim Zotzman, an elder at Truth Now Tabernacle. Tim taught him a bible study on the plan of salvation. Sunday morning he went to church for the first time. He returned for the evening service and was water baptized in the name of Jesus Christ. Five days later, he received the Gift of the Holy Ghost.
God not only showed him that He was real, but He saved him too! From that time forward his life has forever been changed,
Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new (2 Corinthians 5:17).
Within a short period of time he became a Sunday school teacher, youth leader and eventually assistant pastor. In 1993, he met Sister Shannon Dumaresq and they were married February 26, 1994. Sister Dumaresq was raised in a pastor’s home and she has spent her entire life in the loving hands of Jesus Christ. They have two wonderful Holy Ghost filled children, Jordon and Amy.
In 1996 he received his ministerial license with the United Pentecostal Church. In 2002 he left to evangelize for about a year. After returning to Kelowna, in April 2003, he was installed as pastor at TNT.
He turned his high school passion into a part-time business. When he is not preaching the Gospel, he operates a custom wood working shop. One of his specialties is hand-crafted pulpits!
In his spare time you will more than likely find him kite surfing on Lake Okanagan.
