Daily Bible Verse
We thank Christ Notes Bible Search for providing us with today's verse!
From Daily Bible Verse to "Online Bible"
Do you know that this Bible verse is chosen from one of over 31,000 plus verses in the Bible?
So do you think it is possible to read a single verse out of the Bible and understand what it means? Sometimes it is, but in most cases it will lead one to an out of context meaning, as opposed to the meaning God intended.
Isaiah 28 clearly tells us how to use scripture. Here Isaiah poses the question:
Whom shall he teach knowledge? and whom shall he make to understand doctrine (Isaiah 28:9)?
In the next verse the question is answered:
For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little (Isaiah 28:10).
In other words, understanding scripture comes from many precepts and many lines, not one verse of scripture.
The Apostle Peter tells us what happens when we misunderstand scripture:
2 Peter 3:16-17 As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction. Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know these things before, beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own stedfastness.
After you read the Daily Bible Verse, we encourage you then to go to our Online Bible and read the entire chapter, or chapters, that relate to the verse, to glean the truth.
