Your Presence

The pressures of the day build up, they rob me of my joy.
Frustrations overwhelm my soul, my peace they soon destroy.
How I need to slip away, Lord, and spend some time with You,
For when I lay my problems out, You'll know just what to do.
Then I come into Your Presence, You soothe me with your love,
And I know I'm being shined on, by the Light that's from above.
Frustration slowly ebbs away as I talk to You in prayer.
With warmth, You surround me now, and tell me that You care.
I feel the pressures flowing out like water from a cup.
The peace that overtakes me now soon lifts my spirit up.
Then I wonder why my problems seemed so difficult and tall
Now that I've told them to You, Father, for You're bigger than them all.
So I worship in Your Presence, my hands to you I raise.
Thanksgiving overflows my heart, my lips cry out in praise.
Then I feel my spirit soaring, tears of joy roll down my face,
Fear, worry, and anxiety disappear without a trace.
Defeat becomes sweet victory; all my cares are cast away,
For here, Lord, in Your Presence, is the strength I need today.
